If conference alignment was truly fluid and allowed for changing demographics to alter their membership, I could believe it. But, in the reality we live in, where there are 4 P5 teams in North Carolina alone and 2 in Mississippi, whose entire state population is less than the Tampa metro area, we need this. I'm afraid being left behind is only getting worse.
