I suspect, but I have no proof, that a lot of our success the last 3 years was due to Kelly recruits reaching their junior and senior years. Does anyone have a breakdown showing who was recruited by Kelly before he had to resign? I know he opened a Miami pipeline for us, did he get the McRay (sp?) twins, Godfree, Hall, Reese, Perriman ...? I'm afraid we are mediocre without Miami area recruits. Maybe that should weigh the decision of who our next coach should be.

No, you guys are wrong! GOL recruited those guys personally. Coach Kelly was just along for the ride........

Nah, I REALLY miss the Kelly recruiting ties.

Maybe hire Randy Shannon?................hahaha

Half his recruits panned out but half failed as well. His high profile ones failed more often it was the lesser ones who turned out better. Is that a case of him finding a hidden gem or proper player development? Hall, Perriman and Geathers were 2 star guys who became stars, I think he should get some credit for that but the entire coaching staff as Kelly was gone by the time those players become what they did. I think the issue with this team is our player development hasn't been as good. We have developed receivers and DB's but the Oline hasn't been as strong as in the past, I can't remember the last defensive lineman stud after Miller left, those are the units that are the most important in all the top teams.

We're coming off back to back conference championships. Had a bad loss to FIU but tough to start pointing fingers at recruiting just yet. We've got one of the youngest rosters in college football and have barely seen anything from our recent recruiting classes (considered our best ever).

Our pets heads aren't falling off just yet.

Ahhhh. You're right, it's not recruiting as much as terrible coaching.

We were recruiting at a lower level then and USF had an advantage over us. Randy Shannon wouldn't be a bad coach for us to elevate our profile with local recruits.

We are also on a downward slide. Do you want to wait until we are 3-9 before making a change?

I think it may take winless season for anything to happen (and there are apparently plenty of people that are fine with this). Then it'll be like starting over again.

All that was accomplished will be null and void.
