Remember, we did lose to UCONN last year

Every year (save the Fiesta Bowl year) this staff delivers at least one loss against teams we have no business losing to. How does this guy keep his job? If some consistently failed at their job in anything else they would have been canned long ago. I think we need to investigate the Hitt-O'Leary relationship. Something smells like a rat. Hitt is not serving this university as he should and needs to be removed.

That uconn game was in 40 degree rain with tons of turnovers. Upsets can happen in games like that. The FIU was bad considering where they stand in college football. Literally high schools can draw bigger crowds in Florida. UCF complains about resources but look what FIU has...nearly nothing.

Hitt has done a great job building the 2nd largest school in the country. Go on university tours around the country. Ours really stands out as one of the best looking modern campus.

Dude.., open your eyes. There's more to a university than football. I bet not even half the student body even likes football. Actually, way less than that. Your hatred for GOL is affecting your thought processes.

Yeah, you sound like you would know a scandal when you see one. They should ask you to investigate Hillary Clinton's e-mails.

Alabama fired their coach after we beat them on their field in 2000. We should be considering the same. What happens if we lose to Stanford then Furman upsets us. Does GOL and staff get another contract extension?

Are you talking about Holman? The UCF QB in Charlie Taaffe's Offense that threw 4 INT's vs UCONN last year?

Or are you saying that the coaches told Holman to throw INT's?

Confused.

Welcome to the message boards, K-L! You were shockingly silent the last few days. I guess you were given the opportunity to lick GOLs balls once again so you have come out to play.

So as always, it is the players fault. Who recruited the players again? Or was that the players fault that that GOL came to their house as well?

I'm still trying to define consistent failure. Is it the back to back conference titles? The back to back TO BACK bowl games, being just one win away from back to back TO BACK double digit winning seasons? Help me understand consistent failure. Having ONE bad loss per year the past to years should totally negate the above accolades I just mentioned. Got it.

Glad we have our priorities straight over here!

Our goal is not to win the AAC. Our goal is to be in a P5 league and eventually start winning that. Losing to FIU hurts that goal.

C-Mont - you're going over the top. Yes, we have serious problems with our team to losing to FIU at home. You can't deny how well we have played over the last 5 years though. I am concerned about Key being the head coach in waiting though. Also concerned about O'leary being the AD. O'leary is stubborn, we all know that. He is going to force the run. I thought with Taafe we looked more in synch even while losing to NC State. Miss that guy running our offense.

O'leary has done a decent job if you look at the big picture. Not cherry picking specific losses. I'm more concerned about the future with an AD that doesn't understand social media, cold towards fans, etc. Then wanting to pick his own replacement which might be a big concern.

I certainly can deny how "well" we've played the last few years. I seem to remember miracle comeback wins against Marshall, Temple, ECU, SMU, Memphis, and Southern Miss just over the last couple years. Perrenial top-10 teams (what O'Leary said he was coming here to build) don't need miracles to beat those teams I listed. The fact is, the GOL game plan was absolute dog crap, but luckily we had the raw talent to eek them out. Even average coaches perform light years better than GOL.

KT, that is true, the reasons for an away loss, in 35degF freezing weather far out-weigh a home opener loss against FIU. Yeah, the loss was just bad coaching and not being prepared (bad blocking).

Not. TV sets and the ability to generate $ are all that matters. See powerhouse programs Rutgers and Maryland.

Not really...posted dozens and dozens of comments since last thursday's game. Feel free to join the Dungeon to read most of them. (Unlike a lot of folks in the Dungeon, I do enjoy reading good threads/subjects and posts on this board too).
