I know we are all giddy about joining the big 12 and all the benefits that come with it, but have you ever stopped to think of the possible negatives that could potentially come with it as a fan now that the playoff has expanded?

I want to present to you a very real scenario that COULD happen. what if we join the big 12 and become a middle of the road program like Kansas state, always in the upper half of the top 25 rankings and collecting 7-9 wins every year. with us and Cincinnati leaving it creates a void in the G5 for top dog that then becomes filled by usf/FAU. usf/FAU start having the success we have been accustomed to and start being regulars in the new expanded playoff. top recruits want to play for winners and play in the playoffs so usf/FAU start out recruiting us and become the superior football team while UCF is just in a better conference collecting more money.

we all laugh at the notion of this happening but so did Nebraska and Miami, etc when they changed conferences. all the money in the world is great for the school but it doesn't mean shit to me as a fan. would rather go undefeated and make the playoffs making 7 million a year then making 60 million being a middle of the pack power 5 team.
