I'm not exaggerating, I get around 25 calls every day from robo-callers.

They want to help me lower my interest rate on school loans, which I don't have. Help me eliminate my credit card debt, which I also don't have. Help me update my business's Google search listing which I don't want, sell me health insurance which I already have, or my personal favorite they want to help me update my rewards membership, which I've never heard of.

Do you guys get inundated with these calls too? I had to shut off my voicemail because it would fill up everyday with this crap.

25 a day WTF. That is beyond ridiculous. I have a couple call screening programs and I don't know if they automatically filter that crap out, but I occasionally get 1 or sometimes 2 a day.

Is your number on the do not call registry?

Yep. And every call I receive that gives me the option of being taken off the list I do so. I don't so much as take my name off of a call list and start getting the same call from a spoofed number. Probably going on 3 years of this crap.

Today I got 14 between 11 am and noon.

I get three to four a day sometimes. But the do not call registry won’t do anything because their spam, spoofed numbers, or scammers. My best advice would be to research a call ID app that automatically blocks suspected scam calls. I use one called Hiya. It can block some stuff. But the spoofed calls posing as a local number will still get through, you’ll just get a warning saying it’s a possible spoofing.

I get spam calls from local numbers a couple times a day but they never leave a VM or say anything if I pick up. I never answer my cell anymore if I don't know the number.

NEVER select the option to be taken of the list. You will only get more calls. If you receive a phonecall from a number you don't know, do not answer.

There are also a few apps out there that will help filter these phone calls.

I use Hiya as well. Even if it's a spam call, it will identify the name with the number.

Chemmie is like the polar opposite to Bob

Loves great food vs eats subway subs
Travels the world vs living in a trailer in his parents backyard
sometimes intelligent vs always an idiot

But they are both supreme at shitting their stupid politics all over perfect non political threads.

I answer in Korean when I get an obvious solicitation call. They never call back for some reason.

I usually get about 10 a week. Most are from the same area code as my number (786). Got a few recently said that I was going to be arrested for something in a Russian robotic voice. They left a voicemail and everything. Had a good laugh.

When I have the time I like to screw with them. Nothing too crazy but I'll keep them on the phone for awhile. I enjoyed one of the "Microsoft" calls saying I have a virus. I guess the point is to get remote access and lock you out of your computer but I acted like I had no idea what I was doing, made them repeat things 3 and 4 times etc. After about 20 minutes I asked if I should turn my computer on for this. The guy cursed at me for wasting his time (ironic!) and hung up.

Lol, i did that one time. Got a call from a guy who was obviously middke Eastern but his name was "carl". I messed with him for a bit and he ended up getting SUPER pissed. You could tell he was googling ways to insult me, but the best he could come up with was to call me a testicle. "You are a ball, you are a testicle". I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life.

Local (US) VoIP with foreign origination has totally made the Do Not Call Registry irrelevant since about 2015-2016.

This reminds me of the emails I used to get from African princes, trying to deposit money into my account. I ALWAYS responded to those. They were always the same, "I'm the prince of the country but the evil military leader Mbutu overthrew the country and we have to get our fortune out of the country so he doesn't seize it blah blah blah". A couple of my favorite responses were pledging my undying allegiance to king Mbutu, the rightful leader of the country, and the time I responded directly with I'M SUPER INTERESTED IN HELPING WITH THIS, WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?! He responded with a picture of his family and directions on how to give him access to my bank account. I then flooded his inbox with the things I wanted to do to his wife when the get to America and asome links to the Victoria secret website and various porn outlets. He wasn't pleased.
