I'm not sure if anyone is following this but Trump had his DOJ force a lighter sentence recommendation for the sentencing of his political ally Roger Stone. This was such a big deal that all federal prosecutors working this case resigned after seeing what was happening.

As if that wasn't insane enough Barr is now personally handling cases that are of political interest of the president. Allowing him to give the presidents criminal allies, of which there are many, trials that protect them.

As if that wasn't insane enough The President is now tweeting attacks on the jury foreman...

What the ****? Tweeting at the jury?

Thank God Shook chicken made thread #2 on this subject. This is what happens when non high performers who go to bed at 8 try to participate. Sad!

just sickening that Frump has been able to get away with so many crimes. Barr should be in jail right after Frump. They never released the full Mueller report. Unbelievable.

The Stone trial was a politically biased debacle
LOL. It’s an “all hands on deck, we’ve gotta save Trump’s ass” DOJ embarrassment. Barr has been exposed (yet again) as a Little Trump Toadie.

There is NO WAY Stone goes to prison for any length of time. He’s the one guy who can bring Trump down so he’ll get out of serving time for his guilty verdict one way or another.

How anyone with half a brain (or a conscience) can continue to support the blatant corruption and abuses of Presidential power is beyond me.

With every “win” Trump reacts by getting bolder and more dangerous because he knows now that the sheep in the Senate will let him get away with anything.

Clearly it's impossible that Barr just thinks 7-9 is too stiff of a penalty, must be Trump corruption.

Here you go, moron.

Former Memphis City Schools Board President Tomeka Hart revealed Wednesday that she was the foreperson of the jury that convicted former Trump adviser Roger Stone on obstruction charges last year -- and soon afterward, her history of Democratic activism and a string of her anti-Trump, left-wing social media posts came to light.

Hart even
posted specifically about the Stone case before she voted to convict, as she retweeted an argument mocking those who considered Stone's dramatic arrest in a predawn raid by a federal tactical team to be excessive force. She also suggested President Trump and his supporters are racist and praised the investigation conducted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which ultimately led to Stone's prosecution.

Meanwhile, it emerged that U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson had denied a defense request to strike a potential juror who was Obama-era press official with admitted anti-Trump views -- and whose husband worked at the same Justice Department division that handled the probe leading to Stone's arrest. And, another Stone juror, Seth Cousins, donated to former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke and other progressive causes, federal election records reviewed by Fox News show.

Trump wasn't on trial so I don't think it matters. If they had shown bias against Stone this would be a big deal.

Roger Stone will be given his sentence tomorrow. We'll see what he gets. If the sentence still includes jail time, we'll then see how long it takes Trump to pardon him.

Why is Roger Stone untouchable? Because he is the lynchpin that directly ties the Trump Campaign to colluding with the Russians. Remember? It's that 'fake collusion' thing. :)

Speaking of the Russians, USA TODAY is reporting that Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange is planning to share with British authorities during his next extradition hearing that representatives of Trump offered him a pardon in exchange for going in front of the press and announcing that Russia was not involved in leaking DNC emails during the 2016 campaign.

Tying up all these loose ends is tough.

TDS in this thread...lol. unhealthy
Yeah, cry 'TDS' and bury your head in the sand.

When the truth eventually gets out -- and it will -- it will be fascinating to watch the revisionist history that will take place here. We'll hear from the Usual Suspects that they knew that Trump was a lying, Russia-colluding, sleezebag all along. But, hey, those evil socialists on the left were MUCH worst so what's a good Republican to do??!? :)

What crimes are Assange accused of in the US? I thought his deal was a rape case or something like that in England.

Assange is a bit of a mess. He considers himself a journalist and politicians on both sides hate him. The Sweden thing always seemed like it was a setup to get him extradited over here. He's also not a citizen of the US and I don't think he was in the US when his accused crimes happened so it's all a bit odd. I don't particularly like him but the way the US has handled it has always rubbed me the wrong way.

Interesting. Kind of ironic that it was the trump DOJ that charged him.

Yeah I'm glad for Frump also! I mean the rich corporations deserve a tax break! That tax break made everyone's salary go up significantly! It's like a new world. The trickle down effect really does work!!! The hell with those environmental weenies! Who needs environmental regulations and nature conservation! And as far as the debt, I don't care!! As long as the economy is good for the next 6 months, why would I care!

To hell with Science and facts!!!!!

Stone immediately filed for a new trial after his sentencing so it's likely to be some time before Stone actually goes to jail requiring his Presidential pardon to keep his mouth shut.

40 months seems pretty light. What did the AG end up recommending?

This seems utterly insane in retrospect. Barr was being criticized for thinking a recommendation of 9 years was too harsh and then an obama appointed judge came in with less than 3 1/2 years. Seems like barr is owed some apologies

Trump campaign staff and associates have a higher conviction rate than immigrants.
