We need them to do above expectations this year, otherwise, I think we might lose Heupel after this season.

Losing Huepel isn't necessarily bad. If he gets a job at OKST, we get even more leverage in the hiring process next time around because now we can say, UCF vaulted our last 2 coaches in P5 Coaching jobs in under 3 years. We could use this to hire even better coaches than CSF or CJH.

What matters is if we can continue to make smart hiring decisions for coaches that allow us to compete for NY6 bowls every year.

How good is their defense supposed to be this year? Everyone says their offense is supposed to be great. I know they have the RB, and heard their WR and QB are promising too. Although as I remember him the QB wasn't that great last season. No idea about the WR.

Hubbard actually complained because his Coach wore a shirt of a news channel I never heard of. OAN or something. Not sure why that would be offensive.

OKST......based on what????? If we lose CJH it probably isn't going to be to OKST

CJH is a midwest guy with roots in OK (people around here mention him when they see me in a UCF shirt. Some praise him) and Gundy isn't hacking it. If Gundy doesn't get results this season I think OKST needs to make a change. If they don't, I don't see what would make them change coaches.

So basically no reliable sources or outlets and purely some wild ass speculation on the forum....got it. I think there is probably a much better chance that Riley goes to the pros and CJH goes back to OK

He’s from South Dakota and went to 3 other schools before Oklahoma.

Because anything you do or say right now is seen as offensive, regardless of whether it is or not. The Cancel Culture is in full effect and having thier 15 minutes of fame. It's called looking for the negative in everything. They will eventually cancel themselves out, though.

OAN Is a terrible ultra right wing service that manufactures conspiracy theories as news. Just so you know ....
You could say the same thing about any cable (or alternative) news nowadays. We could spend all day posting ridiculously innacurate and false "news" by all of them. I just went to OAN's front page. It has the same stories running as Fox, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, Yahoo News, USA Today, etc...

Conspiracy theories such as: GOP proposing crime bill, Florida continuing to reopen even though Covid-19 cases increasing, and the Golden State Killer pleading guilty in order to avoid execution.

They'll be a line around the block to hire Gundy if OK State decides to move on. He's good but he's not great. Probably wouldn't be able to pull in a blue-blood gig but would be sought after for any program trying to elevate their status.

The language and tone of your reply isn't necessary. "No reliable sources..." Is this a serious clarification? Do you think sources are out talking about who OKST is hiring after Gundy is gone? Yes its speculation. We are in a speculative thread ffs. Do you know the premise of this conversation? You're a smart guy I know you do, but for some reason you're replying to me like my sarcastic snotty 9 year old neice. I don't think I've ever insulted you but I do think I remember some prick trying to make fun of you by calling you fat and hairy when you posted a picture wearing a NC ring. And I remember thinking you didn't do anything to deserve that shit.

Back on topic, I don't see OU, as a CFP caliber team, hiring CJH. My sense is they would much prefer to go with a proven coordinator who's been successful in at least getting to the CFI.

True but a Utah JUCO or SD FCS school isn't going to hire CJH away from UCF. His pinnacle of success, along with coaching at UCF, is winning the NC for OU. But I don't see OU hiring CJH.
However, I do see OKST hiring him because he played and coached in OK for a number of years and they need to make a move to get themselves in the fight for 2nd or 3rd place in the Big12.

I could see CJH going to any Big12 school, other than OU or TX, but I have talked with a few CFB fans at OKST over the past 6 months and some of us definitely think Gundy's chance is up. The lack of success to this point combined with the potential for success with this years offense make for a clear make or break situation this season. In other words, if he can't win with the QB, WR, RB combo he has this season- he can't win at all. Good luck to him and their program.

Wow you were insulted by my language and tone.........frankly I don't see my comment as an insult or a personal attack........if you go back through the thread my original comments were actually directed to the OP. My last response was a reply to your comment but clearly in the context of complete disagreement with the claim and subject of this thread that there is a genuine risk that we lose CJH to OKST........without any sarcasm towards you what so ever I still completely disagree...... the odds of that happening are basically slim to none and are based entirely on speculation with the only rational that he is a midwest guy..........

We need some stability, so I disagree a bit
