Roseanne return smashes 4 year primetime sitcom records

I have never once seen this show but apparently many people have.

And it just set a new record for highest rated primetime sitcom in 4 years, thanks entirely to the deplorables and people beyond saving, living in shithole non-costal cities across the country.

The show is openly middle America pro Trump.

Despite smashing viewership records, LA and NYC weren't even in the Top 30 audience markets. Hollywood elites went on record as saying they had no idea people live outside of these cities.

Remember the black and white TV shows when they used to have wholesome themes and the White fathers were portrayed as wise and intelligent? Sadly, that was before most of the people posting here were born!

That's actually a misnomer. They actually play into some pitfalls with being a Conservative too. That's one of the reasons a number of Americans are enjoying the show.

They are taking potshots at Conservatives and Progressives alike, via the characters. This includes Roseanne complaining about her daughter not being tough enough with her granddaughter, all while Roseanne has to deal with the fact that she was also pretty much not an ideal mother, and a good reason for her daughter's issues.

Americans want realism, not fake personalities and politics, and Roseanne is trying to find that fine line. Because in the end, 70% of Americans are tired of both the Democratic and Republican parties.

I just love the fact that a woman who called for the public executions of bankers and is an avowed socialist could somehow gain the support of the far right because of her acting.

Normally Hollywood star+socialist= darling of the left.

Even King Ralph would have sucked pretty bad without Goodman throwing up enough corny inserts to keep it going.

The show does throw some shade at Conservatives as well in a few clips I've seen. You do realize there's something 'healthy' about having at least a 'counter' to the often Progressive side of everything, correct?

I.e., while I'd wish Fox News would die off, there is something to be said about it still existing as long as MSNBC does as well.

Lol, ABC has been toiling in third place for decades. It was one of the highest rated shows on TV and ABC hasn't had a top show since Who Wants to be a Millionaire and the original Roseanne before that.

It is stupid in many ways, but it also is a good representation of a lot of middle America. Even Barr has changed in 30 years, and has gone more Conservative. There's a reason for that too.

ABC had this show called "LOST" that did fairly decent.
