Wisconsin has targeted Luke Fickell to be the school's next head coach, sources told ESPN, with the Badgers hoping to land him in the next 48 hours. Fickell led Cincinnati to the CFP last season.

I really thought it would have been Leonhard but excited to see what he can do at Wisconsin.

Fickell did a great job with the Cincy program and they're headed to the Big12. Now Fickel can take his coaching skills to a league where they will work well and be on a bigger platform.

Wow that’s a little bit of a shocker as he tureens down so many job recently. Really felt like he was going to stay with them going into the big 12. Feel like this is going to really hurt cincys transition into the new conference

I bet that had a lot to do with it. Cash in before his stock declines and the playoff run last year is forgotten. Cincy is likely to have a worse record next year facing B12 competition, nowhere to go but down if he stayed.

Cincy will be just fine. Look at the carousel of coaches they've lost: Brian Kelly, Butch Jones, and Fickle.

Kinda like UCF, whoever comes in wins, which is an indicator of how the overall program is strong and resilient

Like the rest of us they're finding out they're a stepping stone in CFB for the ~10 programs who can have whoever they want. Brings back memories of the Frost departure.

Gus is that older coach who won't get opportunities for good P5 schools.

Wasn’t he the interim HC after they fired Tressel? He lost 6 games. Tressel did great and Urban went undefeated the year after Fickell lost 6 games. They are in no hurry to hire him.
