One interesting quote:
So he's saying that 1 out of 167 times a team ahead one score with <40 seconds to go on 3rd down with a 40 second play clock against a team with no timeouts loses? I don't think so.
I'll admit I'm not the best with the end-of-game clock math in real time, but I assume the genius millionaire coaches and OC's drill those, right? I assume they practice with flash cards that say, "2nd down and 8, 1:50, one timeout," and have to to give the answer, right? I can only hope people on our staff have done that.
A little bit related, is Miami a serious football program, or is it an NFL pipeline which uses the NCAA as a showcase for 5-star "me" guys? Or is it like those basketball "dream teams" that couldn't win the gold because people can't set aside their own egos and play as a unit?
It's fascinating with all the NFL draft talent we're reminded constantly that they have (before conference play even begins) that they haven't been more successful over the last couple decades.
