UCF offensive lineman Sam Jackson believes the weeks off since their final regular season will be a huge benefit for the offense as they prepare to face Florida in next week's Gasparilla Bowl.

As has been well documented, the team limped towards the end of the season with injuries to several key players. Some players, like running back Isaiah Bowser and wide receiver Jaylon Robinson, missed multiple games. Others, like quarterback Mikey Keene and center Matt Lee, still played but weren't close to 100 percent.

"I just want to see us play the best offense we've played this year," Jackson said. "I think we have the potential to do it. We had a couple games where we maybe sputtered out and had to rely on our defense to make unbelievable plays to put us in good positions. Just have a consistent offense and play how we know we can play. That's what I'm looking for.

And speaking of the Gators, what did Jackson think of the matchup?

"Excited. Everyone was saying we're excited go out and play. It's been talked about for a long time since I've been here. We're looking forward for the opportunity to do what we need to do."

The game quickly sold out too.

"Not surprised with Knight Nation," Jackson said. "They're awesome. I saw it sold out in two hours and they added more tickets. It shows how much this program has moved up and how much buy in we have."

Jackson also added his mother is a UF graduate, but she obviously supports him and the Knights 100 percent.

"She's rooting for us. Always is. Doesn't matter what team I'm on."
