Could our recent struggles be due to the sanctions that crippled our recruiting? I have to believe that they are a big part.

2012 was one of our weakest recruiting classes in history, minus Jacoby Glenn. It was our first year under the sanctions and the media was crucifying us almost on a daily basis. Those kids are now our upperclassmen. I'm not trying to speak bad about them, i'm sure they are good kids, but they weren't the type of talent we are bringing in now or were bringing in before 2012.

There is a reason underclassmen are starting in droves over some of our upperclassmen. The sanctions did what they were supposed to. They hurt our depth. Some of you will blame GOL. But this isn't on him. It's on Tribble and it was already proven O'Leary had nothing to do with this when the bowl ban was overturned.

Lol. The only thing proven was they didn't have enough evidence to convict GOL. He was guilty as all of them.

The people above (Tribble) and below (Kelly) were guilty but GOL wasn't. Tell me more. [eyeroll]

You don't know for sure whether GOL knew anything. There is NO way you could have that knowledge. What we DO know is the following...

Both Tribble and Kelly were caught red handed...there were apparently emails and tweets that directly implicated them. Not so with GOL.

Tribble hated GOL and wanted to fire him. It is not unreasonable to think that Tribble and Kelly were talking behind GOL's back about these activities.

It doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is sanctions killed our depth. There is a reason true freshman are starting over most of the 2012 recruiting class.

There is only two things that are for certain and undeniable ...

1) None of the players allegedly "recruited" by this alleged "runner" every played at UCF

2) None of the other universities where these players did commit and now play at who were allegedly "recruited" by this alleged "runner" were ever investigated, not even those universities where this "alleged" runner not only had correspondence and contact with their ADs and coaches, but were even his Alma Mater.

I will always praise Dr. Hitt for making those 2 points clear, without hesitation, while saying UCF will always hold itself to the highest standards.

So ... let's get off this BS, shall we?

All valid points. The loss of some depth, combined with some skill players leaving early didn't help either. It's nice that Blake, Storm, Perriman and Glenn got us some press but we're not the kind of program that can lose kids of that caliber and importance out on the field and maintain the same level of execution next season.

More dead players? Dude.,, you had very little credibility to begin with and now you have none. Totally irresponsible statement. Now you are just being a dick.

Boise state is 3-4 versus P5 schools since kellen moore left in 2011. Petersen is a great coach and that kid was one of the best QBs to ever play college football. It'll be interesting to see if they start losing more of these P5 games. They generally only play one mid-to-lower-level p5 school a year, then have played mid-level p5 teams in bowl games. They were flat out one of the best teams in college football when Moore was there. For me they were the most exciting team to watch since the Noles back in the 90's.

I'd be happy if our team was almost .500 vs aq teams before joining them for a year

Did it ever occur to you that maybe they didn't have enough evidence because there was no evidence? If you have some evidence of your own to share, C-Mont, you're a little late. This case was already argued in court a few years back.

Will ride the OC/DC train until season is over. Our offense should be better with the talent we have
and our defense has taken a step backwards with current schemes.

UCF has proven that much can be done with 2 and 3-star recruits so the sanctions aren't the
biggest reason for our problems. It's graduations and good coaches moving on prior to this season
that is hurting us the most.

We know where the buck stops...but the good news is in these type of seasons lots of players
see the field.
