They stated in the response that the reduction in a basketball scholarship was in response to having an ineligible player (Rompza) playing on the basketball team the last couple of years. Its not related to the severity of the allegations, it's an attempt to have the punishment fit the crime. We had an ineligible player on scholarship, so we will take away a scholarship as a response. Football never had any players involved in all of this ever play on the team.
