SAT question for the younger ones

My kid got an 1870 as a junior. I know max is now 2200 but for me it was only 1600. Is this a good or average number?

He told me that 1850 was a median for UCF. If so, I'm happy about that. Is he a genius or tard?

Going by percentage (85%) it seems like that is pretty good. 1300+ was considered very good when I took it and that is 81%. It's hard to imagine that is median though, I would think that would be towards the top.

I thought the Max score is 2400. 800 math. 800 verbal. 800 written. Most schools publish the average score as the old math/verbal composite which is out of 1600. So take his written component out and you get the comparison to your old score. IIRC UCF'S median for incoming freshmen like 1270 math/verbal composite.
