I've seen some discussion regarding Parker and their role in this search process. They set everything up. They compile and take resumes from interested parties, then work in conjunction with UCF to come up with the interview list and coordinate all the logistics for the in-person interviews.
Dr. Hitt and the AD Search Committee conducted the interviews in Atlanta this past week and they came up with the top three, not Parker.
To follow up on the Kingston tidbit last night as far as him not being a finalist: From what I gather, it was determined that he was not the right fit for UCF at this time. I don't have anything specific, but I have heard that he was highly thought of in general. It just wasn't the right time for what UCF is looking for at this point in time. He's an alum, still fairly young and remains a rising star in college administration. The next time UCF goes through this process again, and I'm figuring there will be a new president when that happens, I wouldn't be shocked if Kingston becomes a frontrunner.
As for Peevy, I keep on hearing that he is an impressive individual. Whether it's UCF now or another school in the future, he will be a great AD.
Still working to confirm those two other names, but everything I've heard is that UCF has a very impressive group of finalists. There is still one last round of interviews with Dr. Hitt. Again, if all goes well, they'll be introduced by the middle of next week.
One parting thought: Could UCF potentially hire a female AD? Something to ponder.
