Saturday Noon ESPNnews Mens bball

Enough with basketball...until this team puts out a winning product (hopefully next year), let's talk about sports that can actually win games. Baseball.

How do you lose on senior night to ECU? Pathetic.

Since I was there I can comment on the game!

The game was very entertaining. Both teams played very well. UCF defense was really good. Full court press was impressive and one of the first times I've seen UCF go with that. It made for a much more intense game. ECU had some really great shooters and shot their way over the zone defense. Game went down to the wire. UCF held the lead for most the game but ECU stayed close enough to surge the final two minutes. They hit their free throws at the end to seal the deal. But, it went down to the final 2 seconds before it was decided.

Dancers, cheerleaders, and band did awesome. Low student and fan turn out. Beer tasted really good at Burger-U afterwards. Kinda bummed the baseball game got rained out.

UCF last game is against USF. I don't think they will win a game in the conference tourny, so "Can't wait until next year" for the basketball team to improve!

Go Knights!!!

Thanks for posting.

I got to speak to Kasey and his Dad after the Memphis game...both class acts.

Kasey is another player that loves the school/program...and will make a great alum.

Here is a perfectly reasonable alternative to the negative thought pattern that so many people have about UCF basketball.

With UCF's most inexperienced team (with the least depth) since Donnie has been here, UCF has already won more conference games this year than our first year in the AAC, with one game still left to play.

Over the course of the season, we have seen (or at least I have) overall improvement in play from Brandon Goodwin and Stephon Blair. Justin McBride can be a scoring machine down low when we are able to get him the ball, and he is a big man that can actually make free throws.

Freshmen BJ and Adonys are still showing flashes of awesomeness, despite playing extremely high minutes (much more than just a year ago in high school) which likely has them mentally and physically exhausted at times.

You see...thinking positively or negatively about something is a DECISION you make. If you are constantly whining and thinking/talking negative, it is because you are making a DECISION to think that way. You can just as easily make the DECISION to think positively...or at least make the DECISION not to pollute other people's minds with your STINKING THINKING.

I like the way that our team will look next season. If we get further development of the young guards and Blair and Mcbride progress we will win some games. Maybe not competing for an AAC title but enough to win a lot more games.

From what I saw at the game:

Goodwin had another Jekyll and Hyde game....had 8 assists but had 6 costly turnovers...as he seemed to look for the flashy one handed pass thru a crowded lane late in the game on more than one occasion.

Can't have that...got to be sure in every possession, especially late in the game...especially when your team has turned cold (UCF didn't score a FG in the last 2:30 mins of the game).

UCF's rebounding though was strong, even with a smaller unit on the floor for much of the game (UCF outrebounded ECU 28-21...as UCF's 10 offensive rebounds help give UCF 18 second chance pts).

UCF shot well in first half (6-13, 46.2% from downtown, 12-22 FG 54.5%), but got cold in the 2nd half from downtown, just 2-8, as even good shooters like Adonys made a few bad choices (he threw up a 28 footer).

BJ and Goodwin seemed tired (wonder if they had a piece of the flu like Wilson) much of the game...but hopefully their legs can comeback in time for USF game on I think Wed.
