Scott Frost started working the phones bright and early. Shortly before 9 a.m., UCF CB commit Bryon Brown tweeted this:
Later, I caught up with Brown for an interview. That will be posted later on Sunday.
Not long after, Florida safety commit Christoper "C.J." McWilliams of Miami-Southwest reported a new UCF offer.
Frost and Troy Walters then drove over to the Citrus Bowl for 3A state championship game between Jacksonville Trinity Christian and American Heritage-Delray.
In the afternoon, Texas DE Traver Vliem tweeted of a phone conversation with Frost. I got him on the phone pretty quickly and posted an interview. He was hoping to visit next weekend and a few minutes after we finished talking UCF decided that yes, they would host visits next weekend and he'll be on the list. It sounds like he could commit at that time.
Mainland RB Adrian Killins was always scheduled to visit USF today unofficially but the coaches asked that swing by UCF on the way home. During that visit, he did what I thought he'd do after I spoke to him on Thursday night - he committed, becoming the first pledge in the Scott Frost era. I believe he will be a slot receiver and not a RB for UCF, though I will clarify that when I speak with him on Sunday. I was at the UCF basketball game so I couldn't talk to him on Saturday night.
As the night ended, a couple tweets from the new coaches indicated they had an eventful day.
