UCF fans...

I'm broadcasting Saturday night's game for ESPN3. Can't wait to make the trip to Orlando.

This is obviously a bit of an esoteric question, but - I'd love to know what extra sort of information you all look for as Knights fans from the announcers. I've watched last night's game, read through every Orlando Sentinel article, done all my basic prep, etc....but I'm wondering what I might not know from not having been to the arena before. Anything like a particular student section chant, a tradition, whatnot that might otherwise fall by the wayside.

If you have any ideas, many thanks. Bit of a broad question, but I'll be happy to hear any suggestions you all might have.

At this point in our journey any positive insights into new A.D. would be received well :)
including info about how GOL paved the way for some exciting new HC candidates.
Basically, why UCF is a great opportunity for new HC on ESPN would be great PR!

They love to shout Knights during the National Anthem but i doubt that will be aired.

You know he's calling the basketball game right? He's not going to spend much time on GOL

2nd largest university...there will be what is called "light up UCF" in front of the arena if you Google that. If you never been on campus it is really impressive. Young and modern campus. Our athletics programs will blow up at some point (in a good way). A lot to offer in Orlando.

Michael Jordan's sons played for us a few years back.

Welcome to UCF Kevin...hope you enjoy your stay.

UCF Fans/School/Program like to be referred to as UCF...just like it notes on the logo/uniforms, etc...

School body support comes and goes (free t-shirts were given out for the opener plus the full marching band was there...no free t-shirts on Saturday...pep band will be there...no clue how many students will bother to show up for free).

Hopefully some fun traditions can be built around Tacko blocking shots, etc...

Get some B roll on Friday night on Light Up UCF...which has one of the few outdoor ice skating rinks in Orlando, plus a Ferris Wheel, ice slide for kids and other rides for them as well...all in front of the CFE Area (Basketball Arena).

If you need any last minute PA's...we have a good group to choose from if need be (shoot me a DM).

Please try to say "UCF" instead of "Central Florida", like the other announcers. This will definitely earn your respect from the UCF audience.

Hey, guys - thanks again for the help. We unfortunately didn't get any shots of Light Up UCF coming back because the weather was so bad, but did get into some brief talk about the new AD, and nobody said "Central Florida", so that was exciting. Fun game to call and a terrific campus.

Hope you all have a good year!
