Saudi Arabia allow women to drive for first time

Penalty for any infraction is probably death over there.

IMO this is a public relations move only. They're about to take 5% of Saudi Aramco public and sell shares to outside investors. They know some people would take heat for investing in Aramco so KSA is trying to soften the blow and make it seem like they're taking steps forward.

They want to throw outsiders a bone so they back off for a while

I was thinking about this earlier, I got a notice on my smart phone alerting me to the fact that women are now "allowed" to drive. What an amazing difference in freedom/technology in the year 2017. Fuking ignorant savages.

Honestly this could cause problems there. Not because of women but because their roads are already severely congested, and gas is like $.80 a gallon with the subsidies so everyone drives everywhere.

I was in Riyadh a few years ago and going anytwhere on the roads was a nightmare
