I am sitting here at work.. and I had a panic attack. What if USF was extended a B12 bid; and we were not. UCF left in the cold again.. and lose to USF.. again.. when it comes to conference alignment.

They make the cut yet ECU does not? I mean, I am not a fan of either school, but it would be nice to see USF off the list.

I think I need to go home and sleep this off.

Dear diary.

That's how you should've started this thread. And that would've been the only redeeming quality in it. [smoke]

Haha. Trying to have some fun. But am still a tad nervous.

duh*bulls ain't getting in the big 12 due to genshaft. Can you imagine her coming in the Big-12 pitch meeting with her team of lawyers behind her? Yeah right. Don't think so.

Sadly, USF has always operated on a substantially larger state budget than UCF because of their huge Research Medical School (the money certainly doesn't translate to education quality). They also have much bigger graduate enrollment, a disparity our Provost is trying to rectify finally. It's difficult to compete for global recognition when most of your students are undergrads (the nation's leader for 15 years running!), alumni donations remain among the lowest, and research grant funding is no larger (adjusted for inflation) than it was 20 years ago, back when we only had half as many students! We've really gotten our act together now, but it'll be a steep climb to the top.

I think the longer that this is delayed, the better it will be for UCF. Look at all we have gong for us even after 0-12. What's it going to look like when we are winning too. For example, if we beat Michigan, just as an example.
The Big 12 would be salivating. Attendance would skyrocket, upset on national TV, national sports news coverage, Frost offense publicity, ratings etc.

The AAC weekday televised scheduling has contributed to lower attendance: no chance for tailgating, students have weekday commitment, televised games viewed at sports bars and man caves compete with fans in the seats. This year's team wasn't given a single Thursday game (last year there were two) for the first time since we joined the conference.

AAC not opening the season well. Even if they pull out these wins. B12 may decide to stay at 10 with this crop of options.

UCF will win games this year. Let's be one of the few AAC teams to have a blowout win this weekend.
