I understand if they want to charge her for the improper disposal of a body, and everything related to what she did after. But the prosecution should cut a deal and make it as "time served."
But the manslaughter charge is just unreal. But that's how it is in Australia and the UK, there is no right to self-defense. Their rates of home intrusions and violence have been going up since the mid '90s as they've adopted more and more UK-like stances on self-defense (lackthereof).
