Shhhhh.., don’t tell anyone, but we are quietly building the wall.

Doing things unilaterally that you can't get through your own Congress is 100% not what America is about. Where's our constitutionalists on this board?

Oh but Congress has already voted on this issue and passed lots and lots of legislation. I’m not sure if you know this but it is illegal to enter this country, not at a port of entry, and without permission.

As the head of the executive branch, the President is required according to the Constitution, to enforce that law. Building more walls and fences will help accomplish that enforcement.

The issue is money expenditures. If he is using funding already approved by Congress for the purpose of enforcing the law, then there isn’t a problem. Amazing how much money can he “found” in existing budgets when you want it. Might be why we are 22 trillion is debt.

Sucks to not have the White House doesn’t it?

Congress sets the federal budget and what funds are to be used for what. It is explicitly defined in the constitution. Going around that is inarguably unconstitutional.

Oh, you silly guy you! Don't you know that conservative angst over the Constitution is exclusively reserved for when the Democrats are in charge?

But see congress sets a BUDGET (well not really since the Senate hasn’t passed one in a really long time). A budget doesn’t absolutely hold the money for each and every specific purpose. The executive has some ability to shift funds based on unanticipated needs so long as it stays within certain ranges of use. You of course know about this though. It was done more from 2008-2016 than any other over reaching President in history. I know lots of Corporations, Banks, Iranians, and millions of free loaders who reaped the benefits of this “executive power” in those years.

Really sucks to lose the White House after setting that partisan precedent doesn’t it. I don’t like Presidents over stepping their bounds, including Bush (x2) or Trump.

We the people keep letting it happen because we can’t look past (R) or (D).

And God-forbid, we all focus on America before party. We can't allow our elected leaders to reach out to their counterparts across the aisle to reach compromised solutions to the many problems facing our nation!!!

LMFAO. Given your response to 2014, one can only imagine how upset, stunned, and appalled you are by the way our Constitution is being trashed NOW, right? :)

Why can't you just answer? Where were you in 2014?

Sorry guys. A few feet of wall has gone up as you all have been going back and forth and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. Additionally, it’s not even being debated anymore. It’s a done deal
