Yes, this has already been mentioned, but... holy cow! Tacko Fall is seriously 7-foot-7 with shoes on. Can we just think about how insane that is? As ESPN's Jonathan Givony notes here, his measurements basically broke the system.

Can Fall be a dominant big man in the NBA despite not being a dominant big man in the NCAA? Probably not. But interest in Fall has been piqued among scouts in Chicago and what he could potentially be. Measuring out well and showing up in shape has boosted his stock.

Definitely not bad news, at least.

He's 7-foot-7 with shoes, his wingspan is 8'2 1/4", and his standing reach? A whopping 10'2 1/2". All three of those measurements, according to ESPN, are record numbers we've not seen since at least the 1980s. As I noted in my Thursday column, his length absolutely warps the game. Limitations aside, his long and wiry arms create the feeling for shooters that football kickers might feel if the goal posts were half the width and guarded by Michael Jordan's stretchy arms from Space Jam -- good luck!

Fall has flaws in his game and he's not been dominant this week, but he's shown some promising things defensively and can dunk within roughly 30 feet of the rim. That seems useful; an NBA team may decide it's enough for a second round shot.

Edit: So that is 3 articles from CBS on the draft combine. All three have Tacko, two have his name in the headline. That has to be a good sign. Hopefully someone sees his potential and picks him up in the second round.

I was watching scrimmages yesterday and he didn’t stand out. Got a couple dunks but someone blocked him too. I think he goes undrafted unless he picks up his game in next few scrimmages or private workouts.

My hope is that the teams are looking in terms of potential. He needs to add consistency, but his last few games were his best.

If I'm an NBA team, I would use a 2nd round pick on him, then give him a little bit of time with shooting specialists. If he improves, invest more time. The potential of a 7'6" shooter is worth the time and pick .

If he doesn't improve, then I would cut him. But the big question is whether any teams want a project right now.

They can pick a more consistent player with 2nd round and then do the same with him as Undrafted. Although they could have a small bidding war if they don’t draft him.

Imagine if you could have someone like the center from Duke as your starter and Tacko as the backup. That would be crazy. I'm sorry but most pro teams have some pretty crappy backup centers and Tacko is better than most of them.

Marquez Bolden?

If Tacko doesn't get picked up it's not for lack of teams trying to find a place for him. It will be because they don't feel he can be assertive and physical enough (which for at least 2/3rd of his career he hasn't shown even against significantly weaker/smaller competition). No one expects him to be able to put down the ball on the floor, nor make free throws. His measurements give him the attention that every other player wishes they had.

I agree with the 2/3’s comment, but the life you’re missing is that the 1/3 was consistent at the end

What if he gets 1 more allowable foul in the pros and doesn't have to worry about fouling out of the game because he's a sub. Don't you think he may be more physical?
Be more physical 25 feet from basket? That’s where he will be in today’s game.
