From a Packer fan. He has been having serious back issues. If it comes to a trade there is not anyone that will trade. They will wait for a release.

I had always hoped he'd one day make the Packers ring of honor.

I would bet it has to do with using some of that money to resign David Bakhtiari and he is a 24 y.o. left tackle about to be a free agent. Also resigning Eddy Lacy before the year is up. Drafting Jason Spriggs this year probably is saying Bulaga is gone next year as well.

That would give the Packers 2 bookend tackles 23 and 25 years old respectively.

Never be shocked by guys getting cut from the NFL. It's the highest level of performance-based play. If he's got physical issues then they had to cut him, suck up some payroll and mive on. Maybe they have a guy they think is ready to take his place but costs 2-3 million less per year. There could be a ton of reasons. Money is tight on NFL rosters.
