The UCF Alumni Community Volunteers Chapter has teamed up with NBA Player Chris Duhon's Stand Tall Foundation, the Art of Stepping, Orange County Public Schools, UCF Athletics, the City of Orlando and other Orlando-area service organizations to help homeless children and families in need through the "Sneakers 2 Succeed" shoe drive. During the month of March, students can help make a difference by donating new or gently used shoes to any of the drop-off locations we've provided throughout Central Florida.
The event will kick-off at the UCF Men's Basketball game vs. Memphis this Saturday, March 2, 1 p.m., @ the UCF Arena. If you plan on going to the game and have a pair of new or gently-used shoes you didn't like or have hardly worn, please consider donating them at the drop-off location in the arena. Also, throughout the entire month of March, your can drop-off shoes of all sizes and types at the UCF FAIRWINDS Alumni Center on-campus.
The "Sneakers 2 Succeed" shoe drive will benefit the following local agencies: City of Orlando's Parramore Kidz Zone (PKZ).
