So, about that guy shot in Baton Rouge...

I saw two shitty videos and in both of them the camera moved off of them after the cop pulled his gun. One of them panned back after the shots and the officer was on his back.

I really want to know what happened when the camera moved. Did the officer end up on his back because he shot the guy and rolled back afterwards or did he start fighting the cops and he was thrown off? Those 5 seconds would make up my mind one way or the other of if it was justified or not

Yea, the videos don't really tell you anything. He was resisting arrest to begin with, they were there since someone called him in for brandishing a firearm at people, and there's no clear shot on what he was doing with his hands when they saw the pistol. He was also a felon so that firearm was illegal to own.

The cop will probably be charged but he'll have the chance to convince a jury that the guy reasonably could have used his firearm after the tussle.

The Minnesota incident is way, way more unforgivable IMO.

Yeah, when the one cop starts yelling "gun!!!" was Sterling reaching for it? They then told him "I swear to God if you fukcing move!!" and you really can't tell either way in the video.

There are only a few situations where people end up getting shot by police, rightfully or not. I can guarantee no one here will be killed by a cop.

On a side note for those who carry, have you been pulled over with a gun in your vehicle? Do you tell the cop that there is a weapon in the vehicle/on your person right off the bat or only if asked?

My question is, why didn't the cop pull the victim out of the car and instead just let him bleed to death in the car with his gun still drawn on the victim?

FWIW - the cop was Asian, according to the woman who was in the passenger seat.

I've never been pulled over while having a pistol holstered but if I did, I wouldn't say anything unless asked.

My brother in law is the Sheriff of a Florida County, he has always told me that as soon as you get pulled over, put your hands out the window and when the officer walks up tell him you have a legal CWP and the weapon is in the car. He says it puts the officer at rest right away and usually you walk away without even a ticket for whatever you were pulled over for.

From the account of the eyewitness, the victim in Minnesota did exactly that. Still got murdered by the cop for complying with the instructions.

Not sure it happened just like that. First carrying the gun in your pocket is a moronic move and actually a stupid thing to do. When I had my CWP I rarely brought it with me in the car but when I did it was either in the glove compartment locked or it was in the back of the car in the case.

It does look as if the cop overreacted and I still don't understand why the cop and horrible girlfriend next to the guy did nothing as the guy bled out.

I'd be willing to bet if the guy in the car in Minnesota was white, he'd be alive right now.

I'm not sure he had the gun in his pocket. He said he had a gun and a CWP. The officer asked him for license & registration and he went for his wallet in his pants pocket when the officer shot him. Or at least that's the account I read.

The cop had a gun trained on the girlfriend and told her not to move. Had she tried to help, she would have been blown away as he'd have probably argued she was going for a gun that might or might not have been here.

Considering she just saw her BF get blown away with her child in the car or near it, she kept it together quite well. Not sure why you say she was horrible.

I don't think so, I'm not sure how she could live stream her boyfriends death and help him at the same time.

Because the cop told her not to move and keep her hands up? It's quite easy to hold a phone in your hand while keeping them visible. Not quite so rendering aid(which after being shot 4 times, not sure what aid really could be provided...) That audio is clear - how are you disputing that clear audio and command?

In the video she also says that she will keep her hands where the cop can see them. I don't why this is so hard to understand.

Do the cops get charged or do they walk?

He sure didn't seem to be an "active threat."

Police were initially called to the scene by a 911 Call about a man brandishing a gun...as the victim had a run-in with a homeless man. (Victim used convenience store front on a regular basis to illegally sell goods).

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/07/us/baton-rouge-alton-sterling-shooting/

Hopefully an investigation will find out the true story (thought on one of the citizen videos you here one officer, when 2 were on top of the victim, yells "GUN").

While their body cameras were knocked off during the struggle...hopefully they continued to operate so at least the complete audio recording can help investigators gain more factual information in this case.
