I wanted to post this in a separate thread because I didn’t want it to get lost in the other.

I have a teenage daughter who has been playing travel softball since she was 8. Like most parents you learn sports your kids are engaged in for obvious reasons.

She now is a Freshman and the starting catcher on her high school team. (Ranked no 2 in state of Virginia for independent schools)

The point of this post is for those of you who have not discovered Fastpitch Softball If really recommend watching the game. Unlike baseball where the base and pitching distance grows it is the same for 14 u, High school and college. The girls get stronger and faster but the dimensions remain the same.
This leads ti a very fast and exciting game (unlike Baseball IMHO).
The pitching mound is closer so if you apply some physics the reaction time is the equivalent of a 90 mph pitch. You can’t lead off the base until the ball leaves the pitchers hand and once committed in a base running direction you have to go. (Confusing Look back rule).

Our girls are really good! UCF is recognized as a premier school in the sport.
I would encourage all of you to check out a game. I find it exciting. Let’s support these amazing players!!!

our series with Wichita is coming up and it will be a battle of two good teams.
