A couple of thoughts on our post-Paris world.
First thought - Very glad the American public is finally waking up to the Syrian refugee crisis. It only took you 4 years of a civil war, 300,000-400,000 deaths, American air strikes for a year+, an article shared a few months ago about a baby washing up ashore, and a terrorist attack that led 150+ dead in Paris for you to finally say something but hey, you got there! Way to go! Now that you're all mad at your governors and posting about it, just remember this has been going on for FOUR YEARS and you probably haven't said a word up until now.
Second thought - Remember that Starbucks Red cup thing last week? Everyone quickly realized that no one was actually upset and all of the talk turned to how this was all fabricated and not one of you could find an example of someone actually upset about a cup? Well, hate to be the one to break it to you but no one is saying anything about blaming all Muslims for this attack! Literally, not one person on my timeline has said anything even remotely offensive about Muslims or tried to place some sort of overreaching blame on all of them. If someone who you have chosen to be friends with on Facebook is doing this you should rightly call them out, but maybe it's not actually happening all that often? (And that's a good thing!)
Just some thoughts...
