Someone Please Explain It To Me

I have been following UCF football for years as a fan. I am not an expert and no nothing about coaching etc., but I really enjoy the games. Can someone who is much more knowledgeable than me explain in a reasonable, unemotional way, what caused this total collapse this season. I don't understand how this could have happened.
