Let's be honest, how desirable is it to be the defensive coordinator of a team that runs Oregon's offense? I don't think it is as desirable of a position as we all have it made out to be.
If any potential DC candidates have aspirations of being a head coach somewhere one day, I would think they'd hesitate to come here (vs other programs) since it would be more of an uphill battle to have an elite defense (and thus landing a head coaching position down the road) than some other programs. A candidate like Panagos is a perfect example.
