Episode 259 of the Sons of UCF Podcast featured an interview with former UCF Knights Tight End Alec Holler. Alec was a local prospect who joined the Knights in 2018 as a walk-on, and spent the next two seasons working hard to move up the depth chart, overcome injuries, and find his way onto the playing field.
His breakout year came in the 2021 season, where he became a key contributor on the offense in both the passing game, and the run blocking game. In 2022, Alec cemented himself in UCF legacy with two memorable plays, a key first down against Memphis (now known as the Holler Hop) and an amazing one handed game winning touchdown against usf (now known as the Holy Holler).
Alec returned for his 6th season in 2023 and helped to lead the Knights through the transition into the Big XII as a team captain. After declaring for the NFL draft, Alec signed an UDFA deal with the Dallas Cowboys in April of 2024.
