the timeslot for this bowl game sucks but that venue looks nice in a Football configuration, usually looks dumb in some of the other older ballparks

It still looks dumb. Need to have some decent size portable bleachers or something setup on the far side of the field. (Think March Madness where they setup large bleachers along the one side of the court, to hide the rest of the cavernous football stadium).

Just checked it out. It looks like shit. They have tarps covering a bunch of sections behind the WKU bench. Crap bowl with a horrible start time but hey, good on ya USF for getting off the mat. Trashy team, trashy school, in a trashy section of town.

Western Kentucky up three 4th qtr. Even if USF loses they at least had a nice bus ride to south Florida.

Their pretty empty trophy case....is still pretty empty, but props for digging their program out of the gutter and making it respectable this year.

Good think the Bus driver got that new contract now. There was a thread in the dungeon that spoke of some of their fans saying they would go 14-0 next year. They lose most of their OL and DL and they still have Flowers at QB, don't think so.

I never understood why they don't place these in baseball stadiums. Notre Dame had a spring game in a temporary stadium with temporary bleachers. The same ones that they use for golf majors.

I watched the final 7 minutes, then final two on the radio.

Willie Taggart just isn't a good X and O coach. Down by three with 6 minutes to go and you go for a 54 yard field goal?!? Not really desperate time yet. They missed the field goal (duh, 54 yards is a long way) and gave WKU great field position in which they easily went up by ten points. Then there were some other bad calls. I listened to the final two minutes on XM/Sirius and the announcers were even questioning some of the coaching calls. Kinda of ironic Willie gets Beat by the team he left.

As a fyi, former Duh*Bulls coach Skippy Holtz won his his bowl game with LaTech Saturday night.

However, ESPN set up their main cameras in left center field area which looked back at the main grandstands so for most of the game, it looked like "any other college game"...and had teams on their own sideline.

When St Pete Bowl first started...believe they had both teams on one sideline...and had the main camera both along 1st base line...looking at the field with basically no fans behind the other sideline. (St Pete installed tiny bleachers eventually).
