(K.R.) JUST 3 WEEKS AFTER PRESIDENT TRUMP SAID HE‘S CONSIDERING RELEASING ASYLUM-SEEKING MIGRANTS INTO SANCTUARY CITIES, NINTH CIRCUIT RULES U.S. CAN RETURN ASYLUM APPLICANTS TO MEXICO

• April 9th - San Francisco-based federal judge blocked the Trump administration from requiring asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while they await an immigration court hearing.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/immi...e96048-5a42-11e9-a00e-050dc7b82693_story.html

• April 12th - President Trump announced that he is “giving strong consideration to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities” like San Francisco.
https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-migrants-sanctuary-cities-20190412-story.html

• Today - San Francisco-based Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a surprise, ruled that the Trump administration can, for now, continue with its policy of returning Central American migrants to Mexico while their requests for asylum in the U.S. are adjudicated.

Texas border agents say 5,500 migrants a day are illegally entering US

“Why is it doubling? Because word's out on the street in Central America – if you bring a minor child with you to America, we can only hold a minor child for 20 days," South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said this weekend. "Will we release everybody, including the adults that never show up for the hearing cases three years from now? It's also been found out in Central America. You ask for asylum. Nobody's trying not to get caught."

Border Patrol encounters largest-ever group of migrants near El Paso

The U.S. Border Patrol is increasingly encountering large groups of migrants turning themselves over to agents, including a group on Thursday that numbered more than 1,000 people near El Paso.

It was the largest group ever.

remember, there is not a crisis at our border.*

Oh no. This is terrible. Can you please explain how this affects your daily life?

This is why people call you a racist piece of shit. Because you are one.

I haven't watched cable news in forever, but I'm guessing that they aren't showing these large groups of migrants on TV since the Democrats went towards the "there is not a crisis" position.

They're too busy posting about how people (who are the ranchers who actually own the private property) are 'breaking the law' by putting up 18' metal fences on their property when the county or state ordinances say only 6' are allowed. That and how militias are roaming the boarders (on the aforementioned property of the actual ranchers who own the land, who invited them) and detaining migrants (and organized crime).

It's kinda getting beyond stupid how the US media narrative ignores realities that people who live on the border deal with every day'n night.

Great recent JRE episode with Ed Calderon on it. He spent most of the episode talking ab the cartel but dude has first hand border experience. Didn't have a lot of kind things to say ab the caravan and some of the shady shit he witnessed from them in Tijuana. Talked about how residents of Tijuana met the caravan outside the city with red Make Tijuana Great Again hats ha.

Didn't you get the memo? It's not a crisis but it is a crisis because Central Americans want to come here for freedom but Trump is a Nazi and they will have better economic opportunities but Trump is destroying the economy and climate change is because our population is growing but we need more workers and the CIA caused this in other countries but they haven't screwed ours up and we need to limit free speech but we need the freedom to shout down the people we disagree with and racism.

That should pretty much cover it.

Meanwhile, 3.7% unemployment.

LOL You people crack me up! :)

The BEST estimates are that the caravan of refugees -- if they're lucky -- will get to our border in another month and a half.

But please tell us all again with a straight face why we desperately need to deploy 5000-plus troops to our border RIGHT NOW before next Tuesday's elections.

Just look at this shitty post now.

"LOL crisis? What crisis? We don't need the military! At best a few hundred will actually make it to our border and CBP can handle it just fine on their own!"

And yet all of these hypocrites are the ones bitching about this new faux narrative about "kids in cages!" and what a disaster things are, while they were the ones assuring us that this was all just a manufactured crisis by Trump.

And as a reminder, Democrats voted against further funding for the border or humanitarian aid up until 2 weeks ago because they all were pushing this lie that this was all a made up crisis by Trump. These people are scum.

Slavery was terrible, but the darkest days in this countries history are right now because the Democrats have used this humanitarian crisis as a political football.

Hold on. You are saying these are the darkest days in the history of our country because brown people are entering it?

Darker than the civil war. Where hundreds of thousands of Americans were killed.

Darker than enslaving millions of people and keeping them like animals.

Darker than when women literally were not allowed to vote because they weren't considered real people.

This is why I call you inbred racist stupid sacks of shit. Because you are empirically an inbred, racist, stupid sack of shit.

I thought they were concentration camps. You know, where the government takes people and systematically kills them after performing medical testing on them to see whether it will kill them.
I know, right. Offensive pictures, but sometimes you have to put these type of things out there for the ignorant to grasp. Was it 300 or 500 calories a day back then?

You dumb bitch. A concentration camp is where people are gathered in a small space and kept against their will, you know, concentrated.

This was January just this year. These people have brought our border to further ruin and they don't give a shit while they're doing it.

After Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis" during a primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration." Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.”

Democrats, many of whom downplayed the Central American caravans back in 2018, renewed their skepticism again after Trump declared a national emergency in February in pursuit of a border wall. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described it as a "'crisis' that doesn't exist." Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted at the time that "we're not falling" for the "fake crisis."

On April 8, 2018 CNN’s Brian Stelter opened his “Reliable Sources” show by hammering the point of the crisis being artificial while criticizing the decision to send in the National Guard.

“Hey, a manufactured crisis at the border,” Stelter said, according to a CNN
transcript. “A story that symbolizes everything that's wrong with the Trump era. President Trump receives faulty information, then he makes impulsive decisions and his staff has to scramble. Ask yourself: why is there so much talk about the U.S.-Mexico border all of a sudden? Why are National Guard troops suddenly being deployed?”

^^^ That right there is not only pissing off people ...

But enough citizens in other, western nations even recognize the US far, far more humane and giving than any other, when it comes to undocumented residents. Germany was absolutely draconian in comparison. Australia is as well.

It's amazing how the US has become the 'scapegoat' on this because the US News Media is just flat-out lying and stating things that are completely untrue. All while other countries are far, far worse, and even pay other countries to 'hide the evidence.'

The lines were clearly drawn in regards to slavery. That wasn't a political football where both sides were trying to gain the moral high ground just so they could maintain the status quo and preserve their own authority. With the former, we had good vs evil. With the latter, we have indifferent vs indifferent just as long as I get reelected.

What about the legalized barbarism of Jim Crow and the political indifference to do anything about human rights of actual American citizens?

Anyways it doesn't matter, I don't want to derail this topic. Was just trying to get clarification. I often feel like that period gets sugar coated as time goes on and I consider you one of the smartest in here so I was thrown off a bit. I understand what your point is.

DHS MOVES TO END 20-DAY DETENTION LIMIT FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN
by Kevin Ryan

The Department of Homeland Security has announced new regulations that would effectively supersede a decades-old court settlement known as the Flores agreement, which had been requiring the government to release immigrants with children into the U.S. after no more than 20 days in detention. The Flores agreement has driven up the number of immigrant families traveling with children in order to take advantage of it.

“People have caught on, people know that bringing a family is a free ticket into the United States,” a senior DHS official told reporters. “A kid is a ticket, a kid is a passport.” Since October, 390,000 immigrants traveling as families crossed the border illegally, up from 107,000 through all of the previous fiscal year.

The Flores rule says that the government may not detain children beyond 20 days unless they are housed in a state-licensed facility. Most facilities aren’t licensed to house children beyond 20 days. To circumvent that requirement, the new set of rules would enable the federal government to license facilities, allowing the government to house families in any of its detention facilities through their court proceedings, until they are either granted asylum, paroled into the U.S., or deported.

Immigration-rights advocates are expected to almost immediately challenge the new rules in court.

Doesn't seem like there's much to challenge. If the facility is licensed then it complies with the ruling.

Border apprehensions plunge as Trump administration hails Mexico pact

Immigration officials apprehended just over 64,000 migrants at the southern border in August – a dramatic drop that the Trump administration is presenting as a sign its diplomatic engagement with Mexico and other countries is having positive effects on the ground.

The 64,006 migrants apprehended or deemed inadmissible represents a 22 percent drop from July, when 82,055 were apprehended, and a 56 percent drop from the peak of the crisis in May, when more than 144,000 migrants were caught or deemed inadmissible. While the numbers typically drop in the summer, the plummet is steeper than typical seasonal declines.

It's still happening you dumb racist sack of crap. We've just moved on the latest Trump disaster, the syria/turkey debacle.

The horrid thing about this adminstration is that the scandals occur so quickly we don't have time to dwell on what should be a career ending disgrace, it is eclipsed by the next massive dumpster fire.
