that's the rumor on twitter per a Jax site....

if true, it gives him a chance to play for the Jags coaches......

question on Speedy as a KR.....why did GOL relieve him of those duties this past year?

Speedy was very exciting as a KR in 2013 and always gave us the threat of taking it to the house.....seemed to be a strange move to replace him back there....

btw, that site is also mentioning Breshad as a possible draft pick for Jax.....wouldn't if be great if the Jags to pick up one or more of Blake's favorite collegiate receivers for next year....maybe drafting Breshad and adding Speedy and JJ as FA's?

it would give them a shot at the NFL in the most comfortable situation possible....

Yes, him and Geathers will be playing. Surprised Plummer isn't…..I guess because he already played.

I don't think it's a good idea to have that many college teammates on the same team and it will probably never happen. Storm kind of fell in their lap bc he wasn't expected to drop that far and his days may be numbered. If the Jags are going to skip on a linemen with their first pick they should draft Amari Cooper

I don't think familiarity is a bad thing at all, especially with your franchise QB....and this only uses 1 draft pick....

draft Breshad and pick up JJ and Speedy as FA's....

also, if they're offered a sweet deaI they should trade down from #3.....right now the Jags need better players than they have on their current roster....if they get the right draft picks and 4 or 5 of the rookies pan out, they'll be in a position to start making some noise in 2016....

right now they need to stockpile good players, build depth and add the superstar(s) through free agency....

I believe speedy was relieved of KR duties simply because of injuries...or desire to minimize risk to keep him on field for offense

You are exactly right. Speedy was nursing injuries all season.

+1 Forget WRs, can't throw to anyone if you have a DT or DE in your face all game.

I would guess they are going to look for lineman in FA as the MAIN problem on the line this year was youth - you don't fix a lack of experience with rookies.

if you are the Jags...you want the best players in nation...not your QB's buddies from college...if you take all the UCF players like you want to do and put them on Jax, Jax will never beat anyone...all those guys didnt beat the good teams in college, let alone NFL...and just like I said before this past year started, Storm wouldnt be that good, Murray would be 10X better if he stays healthy...and you guys thought Storm would be returning kicks because he did a couple in preseason...he is not an NFL kick returner...and may not even be NFL backup RB...I doubt Hall and JJ make any rosters unless they can do both returns and productive receivers...I'm not sure about Hall and really doubt JJ making a roster.

you're entitled to your opinion.....it will be an uphill battle for JJ coming off surgery but, for grins, you and I'll bookmark this opinion of yours...

That's what I meant with my post. Is that an NFL team has never built that way, he's not in college anymore. The Jags need the best available player on the board regardless of school.

Last season was the first time following the Jags closely only bc of Blake and the media already treat them as a joke minor league level team. They need improvement fast and Bortles needs to show them something or they'll start looking for another QB in the draft next year. The NFL is a tough business but I don't think there is a coincidence that the same 5 organizations constantly suck, I hope Blake can break that trend with the Jags

IMO and I stated it last year..Blake should have stayed 1 more year...who knows how much better this year would have been, but he probably is 2nd or 3rd best QB, which would hurt his pocket book for rookie contract, but he would have gone to a better team more than likely which would improve his 2nd contract. If you put your JAX fandom aside, he would be better going to a team jike the Jets or Bills who have some pieces to work with and a better than average defense.

From one of the draftniks writeups after yesterday's practice...

Clayton Geathers, S, UCF

Samford's Jaquiski Tartt is the guy most evaluators had their eyes on this week among the small-school prospects, but it was Geathers who outshined most of the defensive backs on the South squad. A savvy veteran with many starts under his belt, he was able to read and react quicker than most. He also showed off the coverage skills evaluators want to see from guys that can roam around on the back end and also break to the line of scrimmage well on runs. "He had a very nice week and good day today," said NFL Media analyst Charles Davis. "Scouts I talked to are really buzzing about him."

Rannell Hall, WR, UCF

Hall is one of a number of smaller wide receivers looking to impress this week, and he did just that with some nice catches in traffic on Thursday. More than anything, he's improved as the week progressed and it's always nice to have your best day when scouts are watching closely before they get out of town. He's not the fastest or biggest at the position, but he certainly flashed that he can be a player at the next level.

do they say anything bad about anybody?
This is from Bryan Fischer, a writer for College Football 24/7. He tends to focus on the positive, but he only writes one article a day after each Senior Bowl practice and highlights only 6 players. Since they were mentioned, it shows how well they performed. They hadn't been mentioned til then.

Made another nice catch along the sideline, resulted in some nice pub and showing a highlight reel of the nice catches he made during the week.

that was great pub for Speedy and in the 3rd quarter he quickly became the primary target of the new QB.....unfortunately late in the 3rd quarter the QB tried to throw to Speedy in double coverage, it was an intercepted and Speedy pulled up lame trying to chase him down....didn't return for the 4th quarter....

I've attached Speedy's catch and I'll follow with the int where, unfortunately he had to pull up....

Speedy catch

Unfortunately here's where Speedy pulled up....hopefully it's not serious and he'll be ready for pro day.....he played well today, showed he has great hands and body control....so the scouts will be looking at him...

Geathers had 4 solo tackles and Plummer had 1 solo and 1 assist...both played a lot (not surprised by Clayton as he looked like one of the most polished safeties they had but definitely surprised with Terrence because he didn't join the team until the last day of practice)....Terrence also had a nice pass breakup where he really delivered a hard hit and the receiver dropped the ball

Speedy pulls up and didn't return...

Got to love all the posts on putting 2-3 of the UCF recent graduates WRs on the Jags. You guys all do realize that Marquis Lee and Alan Robinson are on the Jags and tore it up for years against P5 competition? Love the UCF receivers, but they aren't better than those 2 and they aren't going to help the Jags or Blake for obvious reasons. I'm a big fan, but take off the UCF blinders sometimes. There's a whole world out there.

we just want our UCF guys to play on Sunday, no matter which team they play for.....and the Jags probably had the worst receiving corp in the NFL last year so why not with Jax?

the Jags young wr's have some potential but Robinson is injury prone and Lee stunk it up (dropsies) the first 2/3 of he season........

with the rules making it more difficult to defend the pass, having good wr's is a must in the NFL...it's definitely a position of need for Jax......and since they picked up a number of guys in the later rounds last year that they coached in the Senior Bowl, that may be a pattern.....

we'll see....

the only UCF WR I would want to draft is Perriman...Reese if he goes UDFA route and see what he does in camp...I'm a Steelers fan.
