I know that GOL does not want anyone making detailed reports, but correct me if I am wrong, you can report on broad statements (so and so looked good; this guy made a long catch; defense looked lost). you just cant describe things like formations and plays etc.

So any non-specific information you can give us out of towners would be greatly appreciated.

Team dressed in helmets, ran sprints, took a water break, repeat.

Pretty sure blanket statements can be made.

Yes, just use common sense.

Acceptable:
Smith looked great a WR, good hands, good speed, made several catches. Expect big things out of him.

Unacceptable:
UCF ran a lot of 2 WR sets with the x-receiver curling on most. They used a lot of TE motion and looks like they want to keep the passes short and simple for Holman.

I think they are just trying to limit videos, pics, and detailed accounts that could give someone else the competitive edge. I think talking in terms of talent, who is impressing, and general thoughts about how we look are more than fine. I wouldn't discuss trick plays or goal line plays, etc or major tendencies of individuals.

UCF football just posted a photo on FB. OMG, they are lined up on the hash marks and stretching out.

Is that too much insider info?

Who cares what GOL wants? This isnt a UCF owned website...Freedom of the press is a staple here.

I might try to go to practice on Friday. If it doesn't coincide with march madness

Well..since more and more teams are closing Spring Practice and even summer camps to the public, GOL is trying to keep his open to the public for as long as he can.

If fans abuse his request, wouldn't be surprised if he closes them for good, just like a lot of others teams are doing now.

Wouldn't make much of a difference. You guys don't go to practice anyway.

This is the truth! I can't go, but there are many fans young and old who enjoy it

I'm willing to bet its an Admin decision on here...they want you to read their take on the practices...there is nothing you can say on here that other teams would be able to use...if any other team cared...they would just send someone to watch...not read this crap.

Yeah...thats why so many other programs have closed their Spring Practices and/or all of their August camp from their own fans and boosters.

O'Leary still allows great access to the UCF Fan base...but I could see that policy going away once he retires from UCF (i.e. new coach doesn't allow as much open access to fans during Spring and/or August Camp).

It's just as likely that other schools admins/coaches have closed practices to prevent fan interjection and provide them with closed doors to practice without local press/fans getting in their way. Video of the spring practice could of course be useful, but outside of that and the most descriptive step-by-step type reports, I think closed practices are as much to insulate the team from their fans/media as it is to protect their plays from opposing teams.
