Standsbury: worst AD in UCF history?

He came here to retire. Hitt picked him because of his squeaky-clean rep after the NCAA investigations. He was an empty suit. Still, it was useful to play Michigan. It showed the coaches and players where they stand and how to get where they want to be. I'm so proud of the team. They took everything handed out and said, "Is that all ya got?"

Not only did you "negotiate" a 1 and done, you gave them their refs too?
Really???? You think Michigan is coming here? They have only like 4 road games this year and 267 consecutive games with 100,000 fans.
This was a steal for them at 1.5 million

1.5 Million
That's about $14 from everyone in attendance in the Big House today. Of course, ABC/ESPN broadcast revenue, concession, and parking revenues pay much of it.

By the way, that's exactly the amount each student pays in athletic fees to attend each "free" football and basketball game each year (and sit in the worst seats in the house). Most students decline the privilege and never attend any games. Too bad.

After talking with him after he was introduced at the Faculty Senate meeting, it was clear he had no plans to accomplish anything. I was appalled. At first, I figured he was the strong, quiet type or something. And boy did he look old and worn out. Oh, well. Glad we have Danny now.

are we talking about the guy who is now the AD at a PAC 12 program ...
Yes, he returned to Oregon State from whence he came. I guess he can go back to ruining their programs.
"After former athletic director Keith Tribble was hit by the NCAA with a show-cause penalty for his role in major football and basketball recruiting infractions, Stansbury promised to help the Knights comply with NCAA rules. UCF has not been disciplined by the NCAA for any major rule violations during Stansbury’s tenure."
"“This decision was difficult because I love UCF, what our teams have accomplished and the excitement still ahead,” Stansbury said in a statement released by the school, noting the lure of the Pacific Northwest was too much for his family to pass up."

Anyone know what our payout for this game was?

$1.5 Million before a lot of expenses (2 charter planes, large traveling parties of dignitaries/donors/sponsors, etc...).

This game check helped push up the ability for DW to start all of his new video board projects (1 completed at BHNS, still the 199 ft long ribbon board in South End Zone to go...plus new video boards inside the CFE Arena).

TRIBBE is by FAR the worst AD in UCF history. The NCAA sanctions killed our recruiting. They dealt a major blow to this program and you fools can barely see that.

Tribble not only took down 1 program (Football), he also brought down BASKETBALL too, which suffered thru 6 scholarship losses and severe recruiting and scouting sanctions (on and off campus) too.

That will be hard to ever surpass.

KT: Didn't we used to like Sloan? Remind me why we shouldn't -- thought our athletic programs were making progress.

"No thanks CUSA, we'll stay independent like the Fighting Irish, until we get a big time conference invite"

"On campus stadium? No, what we really need is an on campus golf course"

Didn't he get us a football-MAC membership so players could make snow angels on the field before the game? Or had be left by then?
