its been on and off a couple of times but looks like its actually going to happen tomorrow night.

what are peoples plans?

I will watch it, but probably not live. i will likely watch after the kids are fully in bed.
 
Going back years I have said that this entire spectacle should be done away with. Go back to how this originally worked, whereby the President wrote his State of the Union and sent it to Congress. They'd then read it and debate the priorities of the year for the President. And life moved on.

Instead we have this debacle where both sides jab eachother with who they invite to sit with their A Listers in the stands, the half-standing ovations, the uncalled for deriding of SCOTUS members who aren't even allowed to speak back, and/or the equally worthless opposition rebuttal that happens after
 
I'll watch. Just to see if trump goes off the rails or if he stays on script. His team has a decent message but he generally hasn't been a good messenger.

Trump is going to read off a teleprompter and the red hats will pour praise on him for not doing or saying anything crazy.
 
In DC at a bar, I’m more interested in watching the people here watch the address.
 
I thought he did a great job. I loved when he shit all over socialism and the camera panned to Bernie Sanders. The ladies in white were very upset when he said it's not cool to kill babies though.

Bernie looked like he was going to cry. He looked defeated.

That was pretty aweosme.

You can tell the Democrats were physically uncomfortable when being reminded that our economy is on fire. This type of good news makes them uncomfortable

You didn't find his views on abortion ironic since, you know, he's paid for them on mistresses who got pregnant from his infidelity?

Seems like he's not as anti-babymurder as he lets on since he has murdered babys.

1) He's a HORRIBLE speech giver. He has no flow and is actually boring when reading from a teleprompter - no charisma.

2) More BS about the Southern Border. The Mexican government is now bussing people to our border where there will be an onslaught of people? Come on.

3) He kept talking about military spending and how we will outspend everyone. Aren't you all the party of fiscal responsibility? Maybe instead of spending more and more on our military we should spend it at home on healthcare, infrastructure and education?

4) He kept bringing up things from the past that had ZERO to do with what he was actually talking about.

5) Why are Democrats spoiled babies? They were perfectly civil. It's pretty customary for the opposing party to not stand for a good portion of the President's speech. At least someone didn't YELL at the President in the middle of his speech.

Hell, if I had to sit in that place and listen to Trump read his teleprompter like he was reading a bedtime story to little kids, I wouldn't have just 'looked defeated', the cameras would have caught me putting a damn gun to my head!!!

i think it was a good speech but not a great speech. i think bq is right in that he loses his natural charisma when he is speaking from a teleprompter. he hit a lot of great points throughout his speech though.

deregulation
new trade deals
nato countries actually spending on defense
decent relations with nk
removed obamacare penalty
prescription price decline
withdrawal from paris climate agreement

criminal justice reform
first step act
fighting isis, taking back lands controlled by them
better border security
removing thousands of criminal illegals
va accountability/reforms
withdrawal from iran deal
iran sancations
moving israel embassy to jerusalem
pulling out of endless wars
america will never be a socialist country

Your lefties can cry all you want about his speech but it’s clear that he made the State of the Union Great again!

According to CNN, the audience had the largest partisan tilt measured in any instant poll following a presidential address to Congress dating back to 2001 -- viewers were roughly 17 points more likely than the general public to identify as Republicans, and were largely fans of the President.

In pre-speech surveys, 61% of speech-watchers said they approved of the job he was doing as President, compared with 40% in CNN's latest representative survey of all American adults.

My favorite is when he shoved a knife into the sides of our resident socialists and Sanders looked like he was on the verge of crying
