Swamp Kings on Netflix

A Gator friend recommended it and I begrudgingly watched it. Turned out that it was a pretty good show.

I was in the swamp for Tebows 2nd game in 2006, a 42-0 drubbing of UCF. Tebow was superman then.

That was my attitude as well. Sort of like my preconceived notion that I was going to hate the Barbie movie and that turned out to be pretty entertaining. Swamp Kings is similar. I wanted to hate it, but turned out to be very entertaining. Your mileage may vary.

I thought it was entertaining, but also just kind of fluff. I think I read that Meyer had quite a bit of say in it, so seems like they ignored or just glossed over a lot of things.

Yeah, everyone wanted a 2006-2009 Gators documentary to hear about the dynamic between guys like Tebow, Aaron Hernandez, the Pouncey brothers, Riley Cooper, etc. and everything else that went down while Meyer was there. Instead, we got that. Very underwhelming in my opinion.

Exactly. They had Cam Newton stealing computers, Aaron Hernandez shooting people (in college), the Pouncey Bros fighting the whole town, 40-something player arrests…that’s not to mention the alleged Urban cheating, health issues, etc. I watched half of the first episode and shut it off. It’s a joke.

They did mention all if not some of the crime spree. Meyer admits his ambien addiction. The crime coverups by Gainesville police. It showed the warts as well. at the end mentioned Urban getting fired at Jax jags. I thought it was entertaining, and I hate the Gators. Can't deny though they had a good run in the time span. The evil Nick Saban at Bama ended it in 2009. If you are a college football fan I think you should like this show. But, don't watch it, I don't care. It was recommended to me thus just passing it on.
