Funny since we were assured that Syria had removed all chemical weapons in 2013.

Something seems fishy about this. Assad has to know that if he does this, he's gonna end up getting deposed. I have to wonder if this isn't another rebel faction that got ahold of one of the stockpiles. Either that or Russia is still trying to provoke the US into fighting another war we can't afford.

Why would Assad care? He’s murdered over 100,000 people so far and he’s still there

I suppose maybe he doesn't. It just seems odd that he would be so brash as to cross this line now that trump is in office. It was understandable when he knew that there would be no recourse but I can't believe he would test these waters now.

He did it a year ago (4/2017) and all Trump did was throw away $60M. Tomorrow he’ll blow up some warehouses after we tell them to evacuate and take anything that is somehow valuable with them

Extremely strange timing, Trump literally just said we are pulling out of Syria, why would Assad want to do just about the only thing that would justify the US staying around when the pro Assad forces have pretty much wiped out the rebels.

You’d complain over anything he ordered then or orders now. Just admit it.

They need to put the pressure on Assad this time. Blow up his house when he's not there or something. Leave him alive but it needs to be more personal than an attack on a military base.

Nope, Wayne was right. the israeli viper strike was in response to an Iranian UAV that Israel claimed violated their airspace.

The tomahawks were in response to the last time the US alleged Assad used gas.

Not a fan of the term fake news, but it appears your 2nd link is in fact that. Every credible news source is reporting that it was Israel. Syria and Russia have both claimed it and Israel isn't denying it

Have to love that the article quotes rex tillerson, the US Secretary of State. Somebody should have told them that his last day was over a week ago.

NM, I just looked at the time stamp and it was from a year ago. I stand corrected on the fake news comment

nikki haley is an absolute embarrassment to humanity. She's now in the same boob-league as colin powell was with his little vial of white powder at the UN.

But if haley's worried about killing children in the Middle East with gas, invoke israelis killing children with white phosphorus gas.

Russia said they will shoot down any missile we fire at Syria, in which Trump responded, well, get ready because they're coming.

Personally, when we are planning important military action especially things like possible missile strikes, I prefer the President of the U.S. to not tweet things like “the missiles are a coming!!”... but that’s just me.

And then refer to said missiles as nice, new, and smart.

I'm sorry but what the heck happened to Trump. In the 1980s he was well spoken and came across as very intelligent. How do you go from that to being the proverbial Cletus that he has become?

He got out of the thing he knows best-business and went strictly showman.

He ran for the attention and never thought he'd make it out the primaries. He was as shocked as anyone getting the nomination and becoming President.

Somebody should tell him that he sounds like Obama in that respect. That'll shut him up

He honestly sounds like he has dementia, just really pathetic and uber cringy, I've seen better spoken middle schoolers.

This is total bullshit and was from the moment human rights watch threw out its steaming pile of lies.

So, let's get one thing down before we start here.

Iran, Pakistan, Syria ... what is common to these 3 countries? They have only "psuedo-controlled" units, but state backed and funded units, that provide "plausible deniability." In other words, they are state sanctioned and funded, that act independently. This is by design.

So here are the plausible realities ...

1) Syria military attack, from their chemical stores that are supposed to be Russian controlled.

2) False flag by Syrian Rebels. And even if that's the case ...
2A) Did the rebels acquire the chemical stores from Syria itself? Or ...
2B) Acquire from non-state entities? Or even ...
2C) Acquire the stores from the US, Israel, other ... even Russia or the Ukraine (or former Soviet that was supposed to have destroyed the stores)?

3) Syria backed/financed, but not controlled units. Doesn't matter where they got the chemical stores, they are Syrian state backed/financed.

I'm putting my money on #3.

Maybe Syria is stalling for time, by bringing in the UN, but I'm with #3. I think they will find it was an independent group, and the US, Israel and others will provide evidence they are actually a Syrian backed/financed group they do not directly control.

Then the hunt will be on how they got the weapons, leading to a lot of distractions when -- in the end -- it's the same problem Iran and Pakistan also have. They have a lot "state sanctioned terrorists" they fund directly.

He’s had reassurances from an emboldened Putin. I’ll beshocked if we do anything.

Sorry, that doesn't stick on Trump when it comes to Syria. Trump attacked Syria before over chemical weapons, unlike Obama's "red line" that set a very, very poor precedent.

So anyone who is still throwing that crap around is just Progressive media sheep. Seriously, Russia hasn't gotten much money's worth out of Trump, especially not on Syria! Trump has actually attacked Syria over chemical weapons before!

Don't undermine your standing by repeating that again.
