Very sad that they kids didnt even bother trying to help the man that was clearly in duress. Pretty sad commentary on our society that they thought it was hilarious as they watched him die then simply walk away. They didnt even bother to phone it in.

Good samaritan laws are laws that exist because people don't realize that we, as a society, should hold each other accountable ... and don't need laws. As sad as this is ... I agree, they should not be charged. And I don't want a law that says otherwise either.

People have to be good natured on their own. It cannot be legislated.

You can say that about almost any law. If people would just do the right thing we really wouldn't need laws.

I wouldn't have helped either (especially because I don't know how to swim) but I would have called 911:
“The kids were at the park that day smoking marijuana and apparently saw him walk into the water. He walked in on his own. They were watching him,” Martinez said.
