Terrible Headline Title...Burnham Leaving Lk. Nona

From the WFTV report: http://www.wftv.com/news/local/rese...tral-floirda-sources-tell-channel-9/289915850

"The company, which still has a major operation in La Jolla, California, has been the beneficiary of almost $300 million in tax incentives including $137 million from the state of Florida.

According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Sanford Burnham has created 234 new jobs out of its commitment for 303 jobs
."

So they're taking FL's money and running without fulfilling their commitment. SMH. UF may be taking over the building, but may not get the SBP research contracts. It'll give UF a pretty snazzy research facility to get their own contracts, and of course another building to put their logo on next to UCF's medical school.

This says it all.

"The faculty letter is aimed at the institute's trustees, the chairman of whom is former UF president Bernie Machen -- a key tie between the institute and the university that may take over Sanford Burnham operations."

Between Machen and Dyer, the whole thing is a sham and a UF power grab. I hope Scott vetos it, but it doesn't seem likely.
