Good afternoon, Shareholders,
We are excited to share that UCF’s request for $90 million in Tourism Development Tax dollars received unanimous support from Orange County’s Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday.
With this funding spread out over nine years, we will prioritize a new FBC Mortgage Stadium Westside Tower. This new tower will be home to the Launch Club, suites--and countless new, unique, premium-seating opportunities. The size and structure of the tower will help create much-needed shade for significant parts of the stadium. As a result of increased inventory in the new tower, a variety of entry-level seating opportunities will become available throughout the stadium bowl. This critical first step will allow us to generate incremental revenue that can then be invested into the full realization of our Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village Master Plan, which will benefit our student-athletes and community for generations to come.
The unanimous vote by our elected officials would not have been possible without your support! You have helped us share our story and showcase how UCF is an anchor for our entire community and an incredible investment. Simply put, you helped make this moment happen – thank you! In addition, we appreciate all the guidance and leadership throughout this process from Dr. Cartwright and the staff he dedicated to this endeavor.
There are still next steps that we are working with university leadership to learn more about, and we will keep you updated on that process.
Mission XII Update and Continued Support:
As part of Mission XII, we envisioned a $267 million master plan to enhance the Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village. The stadium tower project and relative investment of the TDT revenues represents one-third of this current master plan.
Hagle Football Gateway
The operational facilities of the UCF football program have not been prioritized since 2007. UCF immediately needs roughly $60 million in private support to deliver the Hagle Football Gateway--which includes McNamara Cove, a new football administration building, a renovation of the Wayne Densch Sports Center (the current football operations center) and Nicholson Plaza. Thus far, we have received nearly $15 million in cash gifts and pledge commitments for the Hagle Football Gateway.
Kingdom NIL
Another critical priority of our Mission XII initiative is to fully support our student-athletes in their name, image and likeness (NIL) endeavors. It is imperative that our Shareholders, corporate partners and alumni/fans consider a contribution to the Kingdom NIL, the official NIL collective partner of UCF Athletics.
With NCAA transfer windows opening as early as November, timely investments in the Kingdom NIL will assist us in retaining championship-caliber student-athletes.
Operational support / Athletics Director’s Fund
UCF Athletics will not receive a full share of Big 12 Conference revenues until the FY26 fiscal year. Our ability to successfully navigate our budgetary challenges during this transition into the Big 12 is very important. We must continue to encourage Shareholders and prospects to support the Athletics Director’s Fund.
The future is bright for the nation’s youngest Power 5 athletics department. Thank you again for all your work to help us get this big win and continuing to invest in our future.
Charge On!
