UCF topped Memphis 4-2 in American Athletic Conference action at the UCF Softball Complex on Friday evening.
"Shelby (Turnier) did a great job keeping (Memphis' hitters) off balance," head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie said. "Samantha McCloskey coming up and getting a big home run to get us ahead in the second inning was huge. All across the board our hitters were seeing the ball and having great at-bats."
UCF is now 30-15, 7-1 The American
Senior Samantha McCloskey drove in a pair of runs for the Knights. Senior Kalyn Cenal went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Shelby Turnier earned her 14th win of the season, tossing a complete game for the Knights.
