what a season.....it could not have been any more disappointing....
the good news is it's over and housecleaning will start immediately....the bad news is that the UCF athletic department even allowed this to happen.....no checks and balances or accountability were in place...at all
that's a huge indictment of the individuals, policies and procedures that GOL introduced to this program over the past few years....while some gifted athletes were winning for us on the field, the effort to reload was non-existent as the powers that be (GOL and co) collected their multi millions of $$ earned by the great athletes that had moved on.....
and all of this has significantly degraded the goodwill and reputation that the program built up the past few years....
so now we have to hire a coach who will build back up what was nearly destroyed....this is an extremely important hire....not only the lack of talent and x's and o's, but gaining respect in the recruiting process and building the local support for our football program all need to be addressed...
geesh, the UCF Administration, really screwed this up (and that's being kind)........to correct it will require a very talented guy who can fix the x's and o's, talent, recruiting and local support issues quickly...and the powers that be better ensure the new guy understands that checks and balances and accountability are in place....
not an easy job for the new HC....but the UCF job is one that now offers the opportunity to build from the bottom up and will gain significant notoriety quickly if the new coach performs....challenging but a great opportunity for the right guy....UCF Admin, now it's on you to find the right guy and give him the resources needed to turn this thing around quickly and get this program headed the direction....
you gotta have faith....but we'll be watching this process vey closely and will not accept anything but a 100+% effort to fix it...the days of the less than 100% effort from the previous coach and his minions are unacceptable and in the past....
