Watching this team since 96, I can say that this team looks real promising. Disciplined football, secondary zipping and leaping around the field, lots of open fields capitalized by our speedy backs and a pace that, you could tell, eventually eroded SCS.

The first half wasn't brilliant, but you can tell Frost is going to be a monumental coach for us for years to come. Last year, GOL would have run through 3 QBs in that first half. But Frost stuck with Holman. Post game, in the players' voices, you can hear the excitement and support of their coach that I haven't heard since...ever?

Given what was seen tonight, I think next week's game is gonna be a tough, grind it out, 16-6 victory for UM. Or maybe the other way around!

We're gonna have some tough patches this season but I think it'll be a promising and encouraging season, especially after last year.

Go Knights!

I saw a lot of open receivers behind our DB's in the 2nd half. Great to get the win. Lot of improvement needs to happen. 16-6. Not if we let people get open down field like we did tonight. I didn't see the first half until about 4 minutes left to go (Had to work). My impressions of what I saw. OLine is not much better. Scheme is the difference in running yards. There were a few plays where the entire Oline blocked well, but usually there was at least one or two missed assignments. I liked that we went for two several times. With the 20 hour rule, that means teams will spend some time focusing on that and less time focusing on other things. Probably won't matter against Michigan, but it might pay off against Maryland and ECU.
I thought for a first game the offense looked really good in the 2nd half. Kind of wore down SCSU. Hopefully the Oline will get better by the time we enter conference play. Temple and Tulane both lost to teams that I think we will be better than, especially by the time we play them. Keep getting better and who knows.
As the season goes on, I expect to see some big plays out of the rushing game. I think depending on formation, speed option could be something we see against Michigan and a some others down the road. Holman looked much better running the football tonight than he did in the past. GOLnuthugger here, I think what Frost has done with Holman in running the ball is an awesome job. That being said, I can't wait to see what Milton can do. I know we want to redshirt him, but if something should happen to Holman, I'm not sure we won't see Milton get some action.
