Last summer I had a "college age" kid knock on my door selling encyclopedic textbooks. He introduced himself as being from the east coast but it was obvious he grew up abroad. We talked for 30 or 40 minutes and I called him out on what was obviously a lie about his home, and was totally easygoing and non-judgmental about it. Turned out he was from eastern Europe and was here illegally but had an opportunity to make some sales and pay his way through college back home. Nice kid and once we broke through the facade he talked about how tough it is back home and just wanted an opportunity to work his way through.
