2. Frankly High Point out-worked us for most of the 1st half. If they got past our press before half-court, they blew past us to the basket. They had a quick and active 2-3 zone D, and we stood around in our half-court O. We clung to a slim lead.
3. Then with 2:30-ish left in the half, Josh Crittle injected some intensity and energy into the game. He dove on the floor for loose balls, blocked a shot, rebounded, had a dunk, hit FTs and had a pair of mid-range jumpers. He set the tone for the rest of the game.

He also skinned his elbow diving after a ball, and had to leave the game because of blood droplets. 20 years after Magic contracted AIDS (which is why this rule exists to this day) you’d think we’d get over the phobia of contracting blood-borne diseases with casual contact. Do FB players leave the game when cut?
5. In the crowd tonight: former UCF AC and now Sante Fe CC HC Chris Mowry & family (note to Joi - their middle school daughter is TALL), and JMY. Believe it or not, Tribble & wife were at the preceding women’s game.
6. Marcus took the game over after the half, doing what he does best - driving to the basket and getting to the line. And that opened up his 3-point shot…
7. Isaiah was 5 of 7 from the FT line tonight, and had a fabulous assist to PJ for the dunk of the night.
8. This is going to be a team that slowly improves during the course of the season. Too many new players trying to figure out both their roles, and the college game. And we sure could use AJ!
9. Wayne Martin and Kasey Wilson DNP. Surprised…
10. I believe that Knight Moves were dipped into their form-fitting slacks tonight. And the restraining order must have expired, as 4 of the lasses sashayed by after the game, well inside the 50-foot don’t-breathe-the-same-air restriction zone.
