1. This game scared me, especially after the last 2 games. It wasn’t a thing of beauty at times, but it was a good solid win.
2. The difference was Marcus. Five 3’s (especially 3 early ones that kept us in the game), and a career-tying 28 points total. Sure nice to have him back!
3. Nice pre-game chats with Joe Hornstein, and Al Harms. Turns out CK has the same name as Al’s Navy admiral mentor, so he and CK are now BFFs. Despite that he’s a nice guy.
4. Midway through the first half we’re down 21-15. We end the half up 34-21. The difference - Jeff Jordan. He came into the game and turned on the defensive intensity. His presence also allowed Marcus to move out of a defensive mis-match at the PG. That simply shut their outside shooting down. Plus their big guy left the game with 3 fouls.
5. Another big lift off the bench was PJ, and for the 2nd game in a row. Two 3’s, and 11 points total. And his long arms are so disruptive.
6. Solid games from both Dwight and Josh. Kept the Aggies off the board. This is the time of year 2nd season bigs come into their own.
7. [In his best Bob Uecker voice] Juuuust a bit outside of a sellout…
8. Keith continues to be frustrated by double teams. Still hit in double figures, and had a sweet inside, behind the back pass to Isaiah for a layup.
9. In the spirit of the holiday social season, Knight Moves gave a lively (albeit abridged) halftime performance in short, sparkly Little Black Dresses. Afterwards the crowd was buzzing with anticipation for the annual Santa’s Helpers routine that will surely happen at Saturday’s game!
10. So we’re up by 16 in the 2nd half, and NC A&T cuts the lead to 6 - how’d THAT happen?! They hit looong 3’s, put on the press, and a smothering perimeter defense.
11. We had 18 TOs. Sometimes the number of TOs isn’t a problem, if it’s the result of aggressive play. Tonight 6 of those TOs were unbelievably silly passes…
12. How good can Isaiah become? He’s been the steadiest performer all season.
13. Old Dominion Saturday night. Damn good team. Let’s not make this a neutral site…
