1. We $till own $tet$on…

2. The game was too close with 10 minutes to go in the first half. Three straight hard drives by Isaiah, followed by two straight 3’s by Tristan. Game over.

3. Allow me two personal moments. One of my nephews has been accepted to UCF’s Med School for next year. Both he and his UF MD sponsor said our facilities blows everybody else’s away. Then I took my SIL, niece and another nephew (from snowy Chicago) for a 90 minute campus tour this afternoon. My BIL now has to re-budget for sorority dues and out-of-state tuition.

4. One of the greatest compliments you can give to a scorer is to ask yourself after the game’ “How’d he score THAT many points?!” That was Marcus tonight. Sure, we knew he was collecting points, but at the end of the game he had 26, 2 below his career high. They all came within the flow of the game…

5. All game I kept thinking “damn that #41 is a great player!” Turns out he’s Adam Pegg, a 6’9” kid from Clearwater who Kirk wanted but originally signed with Delaware. Good get by $tet$on!

6. Frankly, we were a half-step slow the entire game. Sometimes I just don’t get it…

7. Typical holiday break student contribution - and less. Lethargic crowd. Pep Band-very lite, B-Team Knight Moves, and no halftime show. Damn…

8. Amara Thompson played his 2nd ever game for the Hatters. Box score - 1 point, 3 fouls.

9. Exchanged greetings with two (or is it three) time UCF and now $tet$on AC Dwight Evans. Great guy!!

10. Thank you to however it was that fixed the scoreboard.

11. We get AJ back tomorrow night. I know some have concerns that he might be so emotionally charged that he tries to do too much. Sure - but that’s always been his game, and it will be a very welcome return.

12. No Champs Bowl tomorrow night. No Magic game tomorrow night. Be there!!

Glad to see Tristan gain confidence and get more involved in the offense...because he can be a mismatch inside/outside threat.

Even though UCF missed some inside drives/shots in/around the hoop...it eventually paid off with some lay-ups and FT attempts (UCF needs high quantity of FT's to make up for low shooting percentage).

UCF attempted just 1 FT in the first half in their last game (very little inside game or driving to the hole) so it was a welcome site to see last night.

See link below for Denton's write up from last night's game.

PS. Congrats on your nephew being accepted to UCF's College of Medicine!

UCF opens up Holiday Classic with a win

Nice report Hoops.

URI could be a totally different team. I guess they may had some locker room issues thus playing so poor before. But just a guess...
