1. OK it was a scrimmage, not played with conference foe intensity or physicalness. But there were some things to note.
2. Matt (hand) and BJ (?) did not play.
3. Tanksley is the real deal. He is quick, has leaps and can score. He scored the winning basket at the buzzer. Donnie was trying to call a timeout...
3. The one thing that impressed me the most today was the interior passing, especially by McBride and Chad Brown. Not quite Josh Bodden/Roberto quality yet, but the improvement was noticeable.
4. The 30-second clock will take me awhile to get used to. Frankly I'm not a fan of shot clocks, anyway...
5. AJ Davis is very smooth, and played every position but PG. He wasn't as dominant as I thought he would be, though.
6. Chad Brown had 6 rebounds at the half (15 minute halves).
7. Adonys scored 4 times on hard drives. Let's hope that's a new feature of his game.
8. Between 200-250 fans in the arena. No Knight Moves.
9. Even though he got caught in a 10-second back court violation, Chance handled the PG position pretty well. Hit a loooooong 3-point shot.
10. Shaheed was very active, and scored a lot of baskets. I'm hoping this translates into a better conference performance.
11. Daiquan played a steady game, and hit a couple of buckets.
12. Stephon had the unenviable assignment of guarding Tacko. He's bigger and quicker than last year.
13. Tacko had 4 dunks, 2 rebounds and 2 blocks - at the half. finished with 6 dunks. He's pretty fluid, but got pushed around a bit inside.
14. The White team beat the Black team 54-53.
15. This team has a ton of depth. We should be better this season.
